Our Vision
“Mbube” is Zulu for lion — the title of the 1939 Solomon Linda song that became “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and travelled the world. We carry that name because it says something about what we do: take something rooted in this community and give it the reach to travel.
Mission
Imbube Youth Projects is a registered non-profit company (NPC) based in Zola, Johannesburg. We work alongside young people to build practical skills — in electronics repair, digital literacy, sport, the arts and entrepreneurship — while giving them a genuine voice in how our programmes are shaped.
We believe development isn't something done to young people. It's something built with them.
Vision
We picture a Johannesburg where young people have the training, mentors and platforms to shape their own futures — and where the community around them shares in that success, in the spirit of Ubuntu.
